So Sad.

I'm sure most of you have heard of what has happened here in Japan. We are in the southern part of Japan so we are fine but it is unbelievable what is happening up north. Watching the news ....I almost have no words...it is strange to see houses both on fire and in the water. It is surreal to watch full 2 story houses, which appear to be intact, being swept along the "river". There are now worries about some nuclear plants. It is dark here now so the full extent of the damage is yet unknown.   Here are some videos from  Japan.

In this second video you will see Sendai airport being hit with water.

Our  prayers are with those affected by this tragedy. And thanks to those of you who emailed us to see if we are ok.

Praying (from Southern California) with all of you for those traumatized by the disaster and chaos--for peace of mind and patience regarding missing loved ones, for a rapid restoration of communication and transportation, for comfort, courage, strength. and hope. I grew up in Hiroshima and attended college in Tokyo.

Are things any better? It's been all over the news here in Greece and I need to say I admire how Japan got hit by an 8.9 quake and had little damage from that. It's a shame about that tsunami though. Relieved to hear someone's ok. I send all my love to Japan and hope things get well soon! Best wishes and support from Greece! :)

ONE WAY TO HELP: Christian Relief, Assistance, Support and Hope (CRASH) is already on the ground in Sendai helping with relief efforts. CRASH equips and prepares churches and missions to be there to help their communities when disasters strike and coordinates Christian volunteers to work with local ministries in the event of a disaster. http://crashjapan.com/ What they need immediately is money for satellite phones and $3,500 for each of the three or four survey teams that have just left for the area. Satellite phones will be used to keep in touch with teams being sent out and with the base camps being setting up. Site for donations: http://www.jema.org/joomla15/
