Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't commented until now.We  appreciate all the  comments and well wishes!

While we are safe it has been just heartbreaking to see the news....to hear the stories. I finally got in touch with a friend in Tokyo...she is ok as is her family in Chiba but they live near the oil refinery that was on fire so they had to evacuate for a while.

It sure makes me grateful for everything/everyone in my life. I've been hugging my husband a lot and didn't let him out of my sight on Saturday as I have to admit I was/am a bit freaked out by it all.

My mom, needless to say, is freaked out not only by the earthquake and tsunami but also because of the nuclear reactor issue going on. We are far away but still....and also by the volcano that went off on our island-we are also safe from that but it is all a bit much for her.

I repacked and added to our earthquake bags we have prepared (since the earthquake we had here a few years ago). I hope we never have to use them but I sure felt better after I added more items to them.

Anyway, thanks again everyone! We really do appreciate you all!

Hi,
good to know that you are safe!
I was in Tokyo until yesterday morning and had the look to catch one of the last flights back to Germany.
I was there for holiday and didn't want to take more risks.
Hope you and your family and friends stay safe and the power plants will get the situation under control.

Best wishes

Yes, it's heartbreaking and terrible... I'm really afraid to watch tv these days... every hour there are new shocking news about the tsunami and Fukushima...
Please take care of yourself and the people around you!

Hi Sofia, you don't know me, but I know your work and love it (especially the fabulous food rings). It's good to know you and your hubby are safe.
I hope everything will slowly get back to normal. My prayers are with you, your friends and all of Japan.

I came across your blog today. I am glad you are ok. Where in Japan are you? I have a daughter, son in law and granddaughter in Tokyo. I have been sending her boxes of food and snacks as we worry about the food there and also she told me of how busy the stores are and how fast stuff sells out. Our hearts and prays go out to all of you in Japan. We come there when we can to visit her. I love Japan. We were there in october.. Take care.. Terri

Glad to hear that you are safe. Hope no more disaster in the future. When I first hear about it in the news, the first person I thought of was you even though we had never met. I do not have friends nor relative in Japan and you are the only one I knew. Stay strong and hope for a better tomorrow.
