My honey and I will be opening another web site soon as we get a lot of requests for things that we can't sell on etsy because they are neither handmade nor supplies. We have some ideas of what we want to sell but I would love to hear from others...what would you be interested in seeing on the web site?
We are thinking of cute things like pencils, pencil cases, swimmer items (a brand here in Japan) like bags, fabulous kitchen items, pottery (eventually), cute kid things like bento boxes etc.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!

What a Wonderful Idea. For me personally I would love little home decoration items,Nothing big but like little Fun pictures to frame for kids rooms, even bedding gosh I would love nice cute sheets for my daugther's Bed,Pillow cases....another thing but then maybe this would be under supplies is Deco clay,I would love to get deco clay for my projects also craft books with even starter kits.By the way I know it might be over the top but would you even get requests like if I wanted something from a craft store you would get it for me with a little fee for your travel and time ?
Let me know.I Would be one of your faithful customers if you offer things at reasonable prices,I love everything japanese .Hope I helped or did I just rumble :)
I would like to see Bento boxes for adults! And Yes..Bags..*drools* Haha:)
Can't wait till the new website's up!
ooooo i'm excited! here are my suggestions based on things i like coveting: chopsticks (really unique ones), buddha figurines and statuettes, bags (*drools* along with kelly), sake sets, handheld fans (or those big ones that people hang on their walls, so cool!). hope that helps, and good luck! i think it's a given that i'll be shopping at your new venue quite often ;p.
wow, how about those wonderful rubber stamp block for carving? "hankeshikun" is what they are call. i've look all over the web and found none for sale to the US! XD XD XD hope u will consider them!!!!
I'd like to cast a vote for pens that are too hard to find in the US. In particular, the extra-fine gel pens in a huge array of colors that I can only find at Japanese stores in New York City, and brush pens, too. I also have to admit a fondness for Japanese dish ware, but that may be asking too much.
Thanks for the question! Love your blog.
yay! thanks for asking. Personally I would love to see some of Shizi Katoh products, a nice array of gocco complements like lamps, screens & rare inks. I agree with the bento boxes & "hankeshikun" mentioned before! Love to read you btw!
Thanks everyone for the great ideas!! I will keep them in mind. I am going to blog about something that is bento related in a few minutes.
Jeriann...I would love to sell pottery and other breakables but I have to find a reliable source for boxes to able to offer this. Also, I figure breakables will have to go EMS (express). I'm wondering if people will be willing to pay the prices? I think nothing of most shipping prices simply because I have lived here for 10 years so I'm used to it but would Americans be willing to pay it....thoughts?
My Japanese addictions are craft books, candy, and stationery (mainly pens like sakura or parody drug, as well as mechanical pencil stuff).
oh and in japanese craft books some of the supplies used aren't easy to find elsewhere (can't think of an example at the moment) but it would be handy to have a place that sold them :)
Good luck with your new website!
There's dawanda, or kaboodle.com. You can try to sell there. Hope that helps.
I would like to see some little kid toys or plushies, or other cute things on your website. Fashion accessories, like hairclips, etc. or other things that reflect the street fashion would also be very cool. :]
Oh! I would like to see cute Japanese housewares, like dishes and decor items and kitchen accessories.
Good luck with the new website and thanks for keeping up the blog :)
Hippyofdoom-some of the things you mentioned I can sell on etsy and others, like candy, I can't so thanks for the ideas for both. I do want to sell snacks and candies and chocolate (in the winter)...they have lots of interesting yummy things here!
effi-saurus-thanks for the ideas!!
maliciousgnome-I would love to sell those things too...first we have to find a source for boxes for shipping breakable things! They have sooooo many cool things here that I can't wait to offer to people!
Huge shipping fees for breakables might put off Americans, unless the item was truly unique. We're all feeling the crunch from gas prices. Good thing pens are easier to ship!
