Red Bean Flavored Pepsi And Osechi!

Yeah...you read that right! Azuki (red beans) flavored pepsi. I think this falls under "only in Japan!" We saw it at the supermarket today and bought it to try so I could explain what it tastes like. We thought we would hate it. We were wrong! The flavor is a bit hard to describe but I will try....it is like a mix of Dr pepper and cherry Pepsi but really subtle. Kind of refreshing....for a soda that is. I think hubby will buy it again!

And once again, it is time to think about "osechi". "Osechi" is traditional New Year's food in Japan. I can't make it and apparently lots of women don't make it anymore as there are tons of stores that you can buy it from and have it delivered to you-even on New Year's Day. I can't imagine having a turkey dinner with all the trimmings delivered but hey...I can cook that...this stuff...no way! I thought I would show you some of the osechi that is available online.

Of course there is a Hello Kitty themed one. This one costs about $75...I am sure you get to keep the container.

Mickey mouse!

We are having hubby's parents over on January 1st so we are in the process of deciding what to buy. I will post pics once we decide!

Oh I really want to try that Pepsi! I had the one with shiso and really liked it^^

I remember last year, my bf of the time was a head chef and he had to make sooo many osechi for his restaurant to sell haha.

I would love to try that Pepsi. It sounds so interesting. I love trying soft drinks from other places!

That pepsi looks good! I love red beans chilled with jelly pieces. Restaurants serve that a lot as dessert near where I live (asian restaurants).
And the osechi is so cute! My aunts make their new years food but it is very hard work! I wish I was in Okinawa right now :(

Hi how are you?

I was looking through your blog, and I found it interesting, and inspiring to me, so I thought why not leave you a comment.

I too have a blog that I use out of Southern California here in San Diego.

Mostly it is a collection of artistic expression, and I have many friends with the same interests, maybe you can become my friend, and follow, and I can also follow you, if that is okay.

Well I hope to hear from you soon, and or read about you….LOL

Sincerely,
Jesse
