Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

As you can see from the pictures....it is snowing! It is "big" snow for this part of Japan. Last night my honey tried to get order pizza delivery but they said no. The problem here is that they don't have snow removal trucks or sand/salt trucks etc so it can be dangerous. When you walk down the street there is this strange "thump thump thump" noise as cars drive around with chains on their tires. I never saw chains on tires where I grew up in Canada....I'm not even sure you can use them. But here they are a must. And don't forget ....we have no central heat!!! The bathroom is freezing but it will be perfect for my hot hot bath tonight!!

Oh wow! It's gorgeous! I love snow.

I don't envy you the lack of central heat, though. ;-)

look really pretty :) I'd be wearing a lot of sweaters even in the tub lol

I have seen people use them, wrecks the roads though. In Ontario where dad lives you need them even though there are ploughs

I lived in northern Japan in the 1970's and we had snow begining in November till May... and to the second story of our house!... we never had a "snow day" off school, we just caught the bus or walked through all that snow! When you come from the Hot Bath you melt the snow as you walk along to home!
oh how I miss my Hot suey Bath!

Hi MaliciousGnome!! Yeah....there are times when I would love central heat. I turned on my bedroom air conditioner (and heater) for the first time cause I couldn't imagine getting out of a hot shower this morning and into the freezing bathroom/bedroom area!

Jennifer-You do get used to it for the most part. I almost died my first winter but now I'm almost ok most of the time (except this morning!) I grew up in Ontario...Cambridge ...anyway, honestly I don't remember seeing them so I was so surprised when I saw people here using them!

Terryann- I can't imagine Northern Japan!! Heck we have snow days in Canada for less snow than that!! Glad I don't have to walk home after my hot bath!!! But I will be going to an outside private onsen soon....I hope it snows while we are in the bath!!

Lovely pictures, we had snow in North Carolina just last week (it's all gone now!). When you say no central heat, does that mean your home is heated using just portable heaters? I hope we can see more pictures of your neighborhood as the seasons change!

Hi, I just found your interesting blog and am looking forward to reading your older posts. Your winter pictures make me want to snuggle up underneath a warm kotatsu. Brrr.

I'm so jealous! I want snow SO bad! I just started a blog about this very thing...or the lack thereof should I say...

The snow is long gone!

B-Our bedroom, living room and computer room each have an air conditioner which is also a heater. We close off the bedroom/bathroom area during the day and only heat the kitchen, living room and computer room. I hardly use the bedroom air con/heater in the winter as I like sleeping in the cold!

I love snow too I bet everyone does. Pictures are nice and house look so beautiful covered in snow but it is cold. Specially in Japan the snow looks more beautiful.
